Small Home Repair Program

Helping Homeowners Make Critical Repairs

Our Small Home Repair Program is designed to help income-qualified homeowners address critical repairs that affect the safety, stability, and livability of their homes.

This program is intended for essential home repairs—not general handyman services, cosmetic improvements, or routine maintenance.

Who Qualifies?

To be eligible for the Small Home Repair Program, applicants must:

  • Own and occupy the home as their primary residence
  • Have active homeowner's insurance on the property
  • Have a household income between 30% and 80% of Area Median Income (AMI)
  • Have a critical home repair need that falls within the scope of the program
  • Complete and submit the application below

How the Process Works

1. Submit an Application

To begin the process, complete the application below on this website and provide all requested documentation. If you prefer a paper application, you may pick one up at our office during regular business hours.

Once your application is submitted, our team will review your information to determine if you meet the initial eligibility requirements.

2. Home Evaluation

If you qualify, our Construction Director will schedule a site visit to evaluate the repair need. During this visit, we will determine whether the requested repair is within the scope of our program and whether we have the resources to complete the project.

3. Project Approval

If the repair is approved, we will develop a project plan and estimate the cost of materials needed to complete the work.

4. Interest-Free Materials Loan

Approved homeowners receive an interest-free loan for the cost of materials used in the repair. Homeowners repay the material costs over time through affordable monthly payments.

Loan terms are based on household income and Area Median Income (AMI) guidelines. Our team will review the repayment details with you before any work begins.

Volunteer Labor

Repairs completed through this program are performed by volunteers from our community. While all projects are reviewed and overseen by our Construction Director, the labor is provided by volunteers and may not be performed by licensed contractors or skilled tradespeople.

Because volunteer availability and skill levels vary, not all repair requests can be accommodated, and not all repairs will be of the same quality. Project approval is based on the scope of work, safety considerations, volunteer capacity, and overall project feasibility.

Apply Today

If your home is in need of a critical repair and you meet the program requirements, we encourage you to apply.

Complete the application below to begin the process.

Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee approval. All projects are subject to income qualification, verification of homeowner's insurance, program guidelines, site evaluation, project feasibility, and available funding.
