Women Build 2017
Women Build is Habitat for Humanity’s program for women who want to learn construction skills and build homes and communities. This program brings together women (and men) from all walks of life to address the housing crisis facing millions of women and children worldwide.
In Kokomo, we are building a house in Cedar Crest in partnership with Theresa Everett, a single mother of two sons. The lot was generously donated by Dennis Sweeney, whose house was destroyed in the tornado in 2016. The first day of construction will be Saturday, May 13 and plans call for the house to be completed on July 22. There are a few Saturdays of pre-construction tasks starting March 18.
If you are interested in helping with the pre-construction tasks, please call the Habitat office at (765) 452-2185 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
. Please sign up to volunteer on the available dates using the link below. The tasks listed for each day may, from time to time, need to be revised due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Once these tasks are complete, Theresa and the boys will be moving into the house.
